Safety 和 Security 的定义区别

两个词在生活场景中中文均翻译为安全,实质上在西方语言应用中有严格区别。

在ISO27001信息安全标准中使用的是Security。在26262中使用的是Safety.

• While safety is protection against hazards (accidents that are unintentional), security is a state of feeling protected against threats that are deliberate and intentional.

这一段解释,清楚明白地解释了两个词的不同。

safety保护的是意外伤害,而Secuity保护的是有意的威胁,所以英文两个词通常放在一起,因为一个系统的稳健设计必须同时保证防止有意和无意的安全风险。

在CMMI 中这两个词是不同的定义,显然中文的翻译不够确切。

在CMMI 1.3 中文版的翻译中这两个词分别翻译为Safety-安全和Security-保密

It may be necessary to make tradeoffs among quality attributes, costs, and risks. The

following are examples of each: Quality attribute considerations can include timely communication, safety, security, and

maintainability. Costs can include capital outlays, training, a support structure; disassembly and

disposal of existing environments; and the operation and maintenance of the

environment. Risks can include workflow and project disruptions.

可能有必要在质量属性、成本、风险之间做一定取舍。以下各给出一些实例:

• 对质量属性的考虑可以包括实时通讯、安全性、保密性与可维护性。

• 成本可以包括资本支出、培训、支持结构、现有环境的拆卸与处置以及环境的运作与维护。

• 风险可以包括工作流与项目的异常中断。

词源上的定义区别

security (n.)mid-15c., "condition of being secure," from Latinsecuritas, fromsecurus"free from care" (seesecure). Replacingsikerte(early 15c.), from an earlier borrowing from Latin; earlier in the sense "security" wassikerhede(early 13c.);sikernesse(c. 1200).

Meaning "something which secures" is from 1580s; "safety of a state, person, etc." is from 1941. Legal sense of "property in bonds" is from mid-15c.; that of "document held by a creditor" is from 1680s. Phrasesecurity blanketin figurative sense is attested from 1966, in reference to the crib blanket carried by the character Linus in the "Peanuts" comic strip (1956).

safety (n.)

early 14c., from Old French sauvete "safety, safeguard; salvation; security, surety," earlier salvetet (11c., Modern French sauveté), from Medieval Latin salvitatem (nominative salvitas) "safety," from Latin salvus "uninjured, in good health, safe" (from PIE root *sol- "whole, well-kept"). Meaning "trigger-lock on a gun" is attested from 1881.

As a North American football position, first recorded 1931. As a type of score against one's own team, 1881. Safety-valve, which diminishes the risk of explosion, is from 1797; figurative sense recorded from 1818. Safety-net in literal sense (in machinery) by 1916, later of aerial circus performances (1920s); figurative use by 1950. Safety first as an accident-prevention slogan first recorded 1873.
